Transgender/Gender

Esprit one of the nation’s leading transgender conferences, with a full program of classes and activities plus a selection of new offerings for everyone under the transgender umbrella including crossdressers, transsexuals, Significant Others, and family members. It is held annually in Port Angeles, near Seattle, WA, where it receives widespread community, civic, and vendor support.

Gender Diversity is Seattle-based and offers a range services for gender-diverse people and their families, including their annual Gender Odyssey conference.  They also provide monthly support groups for youth, parents, and guardians, which meet at Seattle Children’s Hospital, the Polyclinic Madison Center, and a number of other locations throughout the greater Puget Sound area.  In some cases, childcare is available.

Gender Justice League is a Seattle-based organization that works to empower Trans* activists and  allies and create a community where Trans* people can live their lives safely, true to themselves, and free from discrimination.

Gender Spectrum helps to create gender sensitive and inclusive environments.

The Ingersoll Gender Center is a Seattle-based organization providing support and education for transgender, trans*, gender variant and genderqueer people, and the people who support them.  They provide a weekly support group and give one-on-one information on healthcare access.

In Our Words is an exploration of non-binary gender identity created by non-binary teens and young adults.

King County Transgender Resource Guide aims to educate and raise awareness of community needs and gaps in services, while strengthening partnerships between existing services and improving the system of referrals between organizations and groups county-wide. National Center for Transgender Equality is the nation’s leading social justice advocacy organization winning life-saving change for transgender people and works at the local, state, and federal level to change laws, policies and society.

Washington Safety & Access For Everyone Alliance (SAFE) is a coalition of organizations and individuals across Washington state who have joined together to defend longstanding anti-discrimination laws, especially for the transgender community.

World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) is a non-profit interdisciplinary professional and educational organization devoted to transgender health and the highest standards of health care for individuals through the articulation of Standards of Care (SOC) for the Health of Transsexual, Transgender, and Gender Nonconforming People.
