Our chapter scholarship program was started in 1999 by member Alex Pava and continues to be one of our most rewarding services.
We award yearly college scholarships to graduating Eastside high school LGBTQ and ally students, including those enrolled in the Running Start at a local community college. These scholarships are possible through your generous donations to our chapter as well as our fundraising efforts and membership dues.
Scholarships are available to students who have demonstrated their ability to support PFLAG’s vision of a world where diversity is celebrated and all people are respected, valued, and affirmed inclusive of their sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.
The application process is through the Pride Foundation. As a result, when you submit your competed form, you are not only eligible for consideration of the PFLAG Bellevue/Eastside scholarship but also are automatically considered for over fifty Pride Foundation scholarships as well, all through a single application.
Application Process
- Fill out the Pride Foundation application form.
- PFLAG Bellevue/Eastside’s scholarship committee will carefully review your application.
- If you are a finalist, you will be notified by email and asked to meet with the committee for an interview.
- The scholarship is traditionally awarded in late spring at our monthly PFLAG Bellevue/Eastside meeting, followed by cake and celebration.
