National Crisis Resources
If you (or someone you care about) is considering self-harm or suicide, you deserve and need immediate help. Please call a crisis or suicide hotline as soon as possible.
- The Trevor Project (call 866-488-7386, text “START” to 678678, web chat) for LGBTQ+ or questioning youth 24/7/365.
- PFLAG National curates a list of other national hotlines for crisis situations, youth, health concerns, and other topics.
Washington State Crisis Resources
Many statewide and multi-county resources operate under the Crisis Connections umbrella of focused county and state services.
- 988 (call, text, web chat) is the general Washington State King County crisis hotline.
- 211 (call 211, web chat, email) is a King County services program that provides resources for basic needs such as health, food, and financial assistance.
- TeenLink at 866-833-6546 is a confidential and anonymous Washington help line staffed by trained teen volunteers to talk about any issue of concern. A thick booklet of resources is available in the bilingual “Where Turn To For Teens” PDF.
- Other local and statewide services coordinated under Crisis Connections provide help for yourself, someone you love, or those with clients/patients in areas of Adult Peer Support, Basic Needs, Emotional/Crisis, Substance Abuse, Teens, and Support after Suicide.
Washington State and King County Hotline/Reporting Resources
- The Washington State Attorney General operates HearMeWA. This both a tipline for issues such as child abuse, cyberbullying, and hate crimes and able to make referrals as well. HearMeWA is youth-centered and youth-advised. It is reached by dialing 888-537-1634, texting HEARMEWA to 738477, or filling out the website form.
- King County has a hate crimes reporting hotline. The Stop Hate Hotline (833-786-7481 or 833-STOP-H81) is a 24/7, toll-free, non-emergency phone line for reporting hate crimes and bias incidents in King County. Operated in partnership with Crisis Connections, the hotline provides confidential, trauma-informed support in over 200 languages. This partnership helps ensure that anyone experiencing or witnessing hate has a safe place to be heard, supported, and connected to help.
- The Washington State Attorney General has launched a pilot hate crime and bias reporting hotline in King, Spokane and Clark counties. You can report hate crimes and bias incidents to the non-emergency hotline at 1-855-225-1010 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. This pilot will last 18 months, before Washington expands the hotline statewide in January 2027.
Local Resources for Support, Activities, and More
These organizations maintain more lists of local resources.
- Eastside Pride PNW advocates for inclusion across the Eastside through engagements with local governments, schools, and social activities. Eastside Pride PNW also hosts a number of social gatherings such as queer reading groups.
- Pride Across the Bridge publishes vetted resources include a large local resource guide called the Big Book Of All Things Queer, an LGBTQ+ owned business directory, queer art events, and runs many community meetups.
- Washington State LGBTQ Commission is the Washington state government’s legislative team that informs legislators and the public on issues of interest to the LGBTQ+ community. In the 2025 the commission launched a rapidly-growing compendium of state, county, and local resources at their Rainbow Resource Hub. The commission also publishes the Washington LGBTQ+ Survey Report 2025 based on input from 7000 LGBTQ+ Washingtonians aged 11 to 98 on policy, health, economic matters, safety, incarceration, and more.
PFLAG National Publications
PFLAG National publishes books and resource pamphlets for anyone within the coming-out, family, and ally system on topics ranging from what it means to be transgender/non-binary, to faith, and how grandparents can better support their LGBTQ+ grandchildren. These are available for purchase online, can be picked up for free at events where PFLAG Bellevue/Eastside has a resource table, and are downloadable as free PDFs.
